elk education & outreach

EVWC has taken on an outreach activity to help educate visitors, and residents alike, about the annual elk calving and elk rut season. With over 400,000 Estes Park Visitor Center visitors, EVWC’s Volunteers are instrumental in keeping people and wildlife safe during the calving and rut seasons. Our volunteers educate visitors about safe wildlife viewing, elk calving, and rut behaviors; hand out educational materials; provide information about elk; and help to monitor crowds that form around local herds.

Providing additional outreach to the Estes Valley residents and visitors to dispose of their lines and hooks properly can save the wildlife that frequent the lake

We rely on community involvement and support to ensure the continued success of our projects. Most of the grant funding we receive requires a small percentage of matching funds raised from individuals, meaning that even a modest donation can have a big impact on our valley.
